Clean-iX® Water

Specified Quality at a Reduced Cost

The world faces many water purification and recycling challenges and a range of technologies are applied to deliver the outcomes desired. These include a variety of filtration technologies reverse osmosis (RO) and precipitation technologies. Until now, resin-based ion exchange has been restricted to ultra-high purification duties. However, resin-based processes are likely to become more prevalent as the advantages of resins over alternative technologies are becoming more clear-cut and more widely understood.

Clean-iX® technology platform represents the state of the art in continuous ion exchange processing schemes. Clean-iX® Water:

  • Builds on inherent strengths of ion exchange for water purification.
  • Incorporates new advances in continuous ion exchange technology.
  • Offers superior economics for many water purification and recycling applications.

Applications

In comparing the Clean-iX® process with the alternatives, the quantity / quality function is generally the most important parameter.

Clean-iX® can be used in a variety of water applications including:

Processing of Treated Wastewater to Industrial Standards for Reuse
Most communities are now aware of the value of treated wastewater that is currently discharged to the ocean. Clean-iX® Water is able to treat this water to a standard where it can be reused in a variety of processes. The economics of the reuse scheme are very attractive.

Ultrapure Water
Many industries use ultra-pure water as a part of the industrial process. Clean-iX® Water can be used to provide the highest quality water using the appropriate configurations of anion, cation and mixed bed processes.

Potable water treatment
Clean-iX® Water can be used to treat surface or ground water to potable water standards. Alternative configurations of the system can be employed to target specific contaminants that may be of concern. The continuous moving bed process ensures that breakthrough of contaminants into the potable stream is not a possibility.
